Duluth, MN’s Downtown Boutique Hotel Awaits You...

THE HOTEL

Duluth's newest Boutique Hotel

Set in Duluth’s original 1889 City Hall overlooking Lake Superior, The Oliver Inn blends timeless luxury with modern comforts for a uniquely Duluth experience.

The Airbnb-styled hotel is located across the street from the Fond Duluth Casino and is less than a block from the NorShor Theatre, Zeitgeist Theatre, Duluth's Best Bread, and Duluth Coffee Company. Around the corner, a footbridge opens to a pavilion with breathtaking views of the Aerial Lift Bridge and is the gateway to the Canal Park Lakewalk and nearby Fitger's Brewhouse shopping complex.

An Era of Elegance

We created The Oliver Inn as a uniquely Duluth escape for friends and family seeking a historic boutique experience in the heart of iconic Duluth, Minnesota.

The hotel building was designed as Duluth’s original City Hall in 1889 by renowned architect Oliver Green Traphagen who left an undeniable imprint on the City of Duluth. In addition to Old City Hall, Mr. Traphagen’s design portfolio included the infamous Old Central School, Munger Terrace and dozens of inspired buildings throughout the city. Special care was taken to preserve the historic elements of this significant building, retaining much of its original character while animating the space with new artistic perspectives that give voice to contemporary ideas about what it means to be a vibrant growing city in the new “roaring 2020s”.

Each of the 13 rooms at The Oliver Inn tells a story about a unique Duluth personality whose courage to live their dream shaped the city we all know and love today.

When you stay at The Oliver Inn, we invite you to imagine what Duluth was like when this space was first built. No cars, no electricity and no convenience stores. Just artists, explorers and entrepreneurs dreaming of a new life.

We invite you to experience Duluth in a whole new way and hope your stay with us inspires curiosity, conversation and most of all, enduring memories with the people you love the most.

Your Hosts,

Rod and Katrina

One of the most unique and wonderful overnight stay experiences I have had in Duluth. The management here did an amazing job converting the old city hall into a beautiful hotel, while keeping the foundation and history. If you're visiting Duluth, try something new like The Oliver Inn. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
